"The rangelands are a resource that everyone is responsible for. Pastoralism is the backbone of the rangelands but if people are going to have sustainable pastoral enterprises going forward into the future, they need the chance to diversify their business. Tourism and carbon farming are perfectly suitable uses of this landscape in their own right, but they need a rangelands lease to succeed. This will help to foster greater environmental, economic and social sustainability in our rangelands. At the moment we’re confined in what we can and can’t do, a rangelands diversification lease would allow pastoral businesses a greater focus on sustainable land use in Outback Western Australia."

Our Outback is an amazing place, but what makes it special is at risk.
