According to the State of Environment Report 2021, of the 20 mammal species most at risk of extinction over the next 20 years, most occur in WA. It also reported that WA had the largest decline in plant species across Australia and the largest number of threatened plant species.

The WA and Commonwealth Governments have recently committed to protect 30 per cent of our land and oceans for conservation by 2030. Due to the vast size of the WA Outback, we are uniquely positioned to contribute to this target and create new protected areas in places where species remain at risk and require safe havens for protection.
