Sign the petition and urge Premier Cook to protect more of WA's nature in national parks!

    Dear Premier Cook,

Congratulations to you and the Labor Government on reaching the halfway mark of 2.5-million-hectares in the delivery of Plan for Our Parks.

Plan for Our Parks has been the most significant conservation expansion in WA’s history and has set the benchmark for joint-management with Traditional Owners across Australia.

I’m one of thousands of West Australians who visit national parks each year and I know the importance they hold for protecting our unique natural and cultural heritage, and supporting Traditional Owners to manage Country.

I was also excited to see you join other state and territory governments in endorsing Australia’s commitment to protect 30 per cent of our land and oceans for conservation by 2030.

I urge you to continue taking steps to ensure Western Australia plays its part in addressing the growing biodiversity and climate crisis we are facing. Investment in protected areas that are jointly-managed with Traditional Owners create employment and regional economic development – empowering local communities, supporting Aboriginal culture and boosting tourism.

WA has unique plants, animals and culture that are found nowhere else in the world, but they’re under increasing risk.

I congratulate you on your progress so far and look forward to celebrating the protection of more of Western Australia’s special places. I am proud of what Plan for Our Parks has achieved for WA.

I urge you to continue on this legacy you are creating for people and nature, to ensure we protect the very best of WA for the next generation.

    Yours sincerely,

Help us secure further protection for WA's nature!

The WA Government has reached the halfway milestone in their commitment to create 5 million hectares of national parks, reserves and marine parks by 2024.

However, climate change, land clearing, fire, invasive weeds and feral animals continue to drive the biodiversity crisis, which is why it's crucial that the government continues to create new national parks and reserves.

Add your support to show Premier Roger Cook and the WA Government how important national parks are to all West Australians and that they are crucial for protecting our rare animals, plants, heritage and landscapes.

Investment in protected areas that are jointly-managed with Traditional Owners are protecting our environment, creating employment and regional economic development opportunities – empowering local communities, supporting Aboriginal culture and boosting tourism.  We need to keep going and protect more of our amazing state!

Sign the petition and urge Premier Cook to keep creating national parks across WA!
